The following NHS Trust accepts FREC5's for direct employment:
- East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS)
- Scottish Ambulance Service (case-by-case basis)
The following NHS Trust's accept FREC5's for for private ambulance contracts for frontline care:
- East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS)
- East of England Ambulance Service (EAST)
- South Western Ambulance Service Trust (SWAST)
- South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAMB)
- South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS)
- North West Ambulance Service Trust (NWAS)
- North East Ambulance Service Trust (NEAS)
- Isle of Man Ambulance Service
- States of Jersey Ambulance Service
Most other NHS services will accept FREC 3 and 4 together as an ECA but less direct entrants for this grade.
Most private ambulance services take FREC 3 and 4 as an ECA grade and some contracts accept FREC 5's.
