If you intend to work in close protection in Australia, your state licensing authority will ask you for an Australian qualification. Your Ronin SA Close Protection Certificate, your FREC3 and your firearms competency are all sound evidence of what you can do, but on their own they are not the document the state is looking for.
We are delighted to tell you that our Australian graduates no longer have to bridge that gap alone.
What You Receive
A Certificate III in Close Protection Operations, gained through Recognition of Prior Learning with Panoptic Solutions, a graduate-owned company. This is the qualification you need in order to apply for a close protection licence in Australia.
How It Works
- You complete and pass the Ronin SA Close Protection Course.
- Post-graduation, you apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to Panoptic Solutions. We contact every Australian graduate after the course and take them through exactly how to do this, so there is nothing for you to chase down yourself.
- Ronin SA pays for the RPL process on your behalf.
- The RPL process takes two to three weeks and you will receive your certificate from Panoptic Solutions within a month.
A Word Of Thanks
We are honoured that Troy Claydon and his wonderful team at Panoptic Solutions have opened this door for us. There is real pride in watching a company built by one of our own graduates reach back and carry the next generation of Close Protection Officers into licensed work at home. Panoptic Solutions is also one of the international close protection companies that interviews our top graduates each course, so many of you will already know the name.
Your State Licence Is A Separate Step
The Certificate III qualifies you to apply for a licence. Licensing itself is administered state by state and each state sets its own requirements, which may include fingerprints, a police check, an application fee and current first aid certification. Our guide to those requirements is here: Australian State Licensing Requirements.
What You Need To Do Now
Nothing at all while you are on course. Concentrate on your training. We contact every Australian graduate once they have qualified and take them through it from there.
